Our world is entering a new age - the Age of Globesity

Like a perfect storm, obesity and the inevitable medical repercussions accompanying it are bringing our economies to the breaking point. Most of us are blissfully unaware of the danger that lies ahead.

For thirty years now the medical profession has become more and more alarmed at the rise in cardiovascular disease and the lethal toll it has taken on our culture. Attempts to curb this ominous cloud growing in the horizon have met with little success.

Every year the number of diabetics continues to escalate. At one time type II diabetes was known as adult onset diabetes. The disease typically emerged in adults that had become obese and after some time, fell victim to the horrendous liabilities of type 2 diabetes. We are finding that as obesity begins to increase in children, type 2 diabetes can no longer be called adult onset.

An alarming rise in diseases, which are ironically related to lifestyle excesses, is beginning to take an increasing toll on the health and vitality of our nation. The steady rise in the incidences of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, myocardial infarctions, strokes, cancer and perhaps even Alzheimer’s, which we are experiencing in the western nations, can be directly or indirectly related to obesity. Unfortunately, these are generally caused by incorrect diets, over-consumption, and exercise deprivation.

The medical ramifications of starting down this slippery slope at younger ages are horrendous, not only to the individual but to the cost of medical treatment and for society as a whole. Medical insurance will soar through the roof in order to pay for this approaching, perfect storm.

Sadly, most who are attempting to overcome this problem are in fact adding to it through the use of high glycemic carbohydrate diets, which they erroneously think will help them lose weight.

Little is understood of the role that insulin plays in this unfolding drama. Little is understood about the importance of the glycemic index in this regard. This book will help the reader understand the secret of losing the midriff fat that leads to these serious health problems.

Sadly, the vast majority of people that are obese have tried countless fad diets in desperate attempts to lose weight. Most have failed, not because they did not try, but because the diets were unwittingly helping them to store more fat rather than burning it as fuel.

Their will to overcome obstacles has been dealt a severe blow by the constant failures of the past. But there is hope. This book has been written to give you that hope. We know a little about overcoming obstacles and hope that our story can inspire you and educate you to become victorious.

We have found that adversity is what brings forth character and character is what breeds success.
